Opengate® Advanced Screening offers new security measures for Beauregard Parish schools

Schools across Beauregard Parish will be implementing the Opengate® Advance Screening system for the new school year. The system offers dynamic solutions for metal detection and security screenings for public schools and facilities. The new system is designed to deliver advanced safety and security measures for K-12 schools with detection accuracy, maneuverability, and tailored solutions to provide protection for students, staff, and visitors. Opengate® is a wire-free screening portal of independent, self-powered pillars that are portable and do not require divestiture of items for screening. The system is designed for both indoor and outdoor use with a high throughput for quick and secure entry to the school campus and to school events. The pillars are light-weight, allowing administrators to quickly move them to needed areas and select appropriate screening options for unique situations.Beauregard Parish administrators attended a training in June for a new security system. The system is controlled via an App that administrators use to select a variety of screening options, making it a versatile screening tool that can quickly and easily be changed to meet the security needs of the moment. The pillars feature a clear “Go/No Go” signal, are easily controlled via the App, provide several screening options and levels, and deliver rapid screening with the lowest possible nuisance. Seamless passage with bags, backpacks, and purses helps students and visitors quickly enter the building or event while still maintaining a high level of security. The board approved the purchase of Opengate® meatal/weapons detectors, related items, installation, and training at the April board meeting.
