The goal of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is to help each student develop self-discipline to make good choices. Parents, teachers, and students must work together to maintain a safe learning environment. Together the home, school, and community share the responsibility for developing good citizens.

Merryville High School utilizes a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports system to recognize the positive contributions of students. Each teacher has a classroom discipline plan that informs students of school rules and expectations. Practice Self Control, Act Responsibley , Work Hard, and Show Respect (PAWS) are primary behavioral expectations in all classrooms and non-classroom settings.

CONSEQUENCES
FIRST OFFENSE-Verbal Warning. Document in log.
SECOND OFFENSE-Note home. Must be signed by parents and returned the next school day. Document in log.
THIRD OFFENSE-Phone call to parents /Conference if needed.
Document in log.
FOURTH OFFENSE-Referral to Office. Document in log.

Major behavior occurrences will constitute
an immediate office referral.
