At EBE children are our greatest resource. Children are involved in a variety of activities – engrossed in a good book in the library, experimenting with magnets in science class, excitedly discussing Native Indians in social studies, playing games to reinforce math skills, running around the track to increase endurance, or creating a PowerPoint slide show on the computer.
We are proud of the accomplishments of our school family. Our School Performance Score assigned by the State Department of Education is 107, well above the state average. This is attributable to our hard-working students, dedicated teachers and staff, and parents who encourage their children in their education. Many of our students have parents and grandparents who attended EBE; we appreciate their confidence in continuing their family’s education here.
EBE offers many resources to students. We have an extensive Accelerated Reader Program to encourage students to read for pleasure. Students use the Title I computer lab weekly to practice reading and math skills and create projects. After-school tutoring is available for 4th graders who are preparing to take the LEAP test. We have an active Student Council, Science Club, and 4-H club.
Our parents are an essential part of the EBE community. Through PTO parents help work on the playground, keep the marquis updated, help with Carnival, provide assistance with Honor Roll Pizza Party, and continuously look for ways to improve our school environment for the students and teachers. Our parents volunteer for many activities such as supervising classes during WFSG (staff development), running off papers, chaperoning field trips, creating art projects with students, serving as expert speakers in class, and helping teachers when needed.
Parents can participate in PTO (Parent/Teacher/Organization), Parent Days (Grade level), AR nights, Volunteer Appreciation, and LEAP night. Our communication with parents is through Trojan Talk, weekly newsletters, website, parent conferences, progress reports, report cards, the marquis, and school report cards. Parents are also welcome to call for information or conferences at any time.
The community offers many youth sport activities – soccer, basketball, football, and baseball. In addition, the many area churches sponsor youth activities. Please call us or come see us any time you have a concern. Together as a community, we will provide a quality eduction for each child.
